Fall comfort food: soups and hearty favorites

Monday, September 23, 2019 marks the first official day of Fall – weather (pun intended) it feels like it or not. So it’s the perfect time to share a few of our favorite comfort food dishes.

It’s rare for Florida to get bone-chilling temperatures, but during the cooler months, it does feel nice to warm the soul with a good old-fashioned, homemade Chicken Noodle Soup. We load ours up with roasted pulled chicken, carrots, celery and shell noodles – you can’t go wrong with this delicious soup!

For a hearty lunch or dinner option, we recommend the savory Cajun Meatloaf, a generous portion of blackened meatloaf topped with our signature savory gravy and served with a side of garlic mashed potatoes. At the finish, you’ll feel satisfied you’ve had a great “home cooked” meal!

Another can’t-go-wrong option, especially if you enjoy Italian dishes, is our Chicken Parmesan. Hand-breaded chicken smothered with marinara sauce, topped with baked mozzarella and served with pasta.

Finally, be sure to stop in on Thursday evenings for our Comfort Food Dinner special, Country Fried Chicken, a delicious home-style meal cooked from the heart.

Next time you’re in the mood for cozy, comfort food you know exactly where to go, Café Alfresco in Dunedin, FL. Don’t forget to let us know which dish is your favorite, too. Leave us a comment here or share a picture of your meal with us on our Facebook page; either way, we’d love to hear from you!
