Fall comfort food: soups and hearty favorites

Days are getting shorter and we’re finally starting to get a break from the Florida heat; I guess that means it’s officially Fall in Dunedin, which also means, it’s the perfect time to share a few of our favorite comfort food dishes.

It’s rare for Florida to get bone-chilling temperatures, but during the cooler months, it does feel nice to warm the soul with a good old-fashioned, homemade Chicken Noodle Soup. We load ours up with roasted pulled chicken, carrots, celery and shell noodles – you can’t go wrong with this delicious soup!

For a hearty lunch or dinner option, we recommend the savory Cajun Meatloaf, a generous portion of blackened meatloaf topped with our signature savory gravy and served with a side of garlic mashed potatoes. At the finish, you’ll feel satisfied you’ve had a great “home cooked” meal!

Another can’t-go-wrong option, especially if you enjoy Italian dishes, is our Chicken Parmesan. Hand-breaded chicken smothered with marinara sauce, topped with baked mozzarella and served with pasta.

Finally, be sure to stop in on Thursday evenings for our Comfort Food Dinner special. Each week our chef will create different home-style meals, filled with soul and cooked from the heart. Entrées and prices vary each week but recent examples include Country Fried Chicken and Pork Marsala.

Next time you’re in the mood for cozy, comfort food you know exactly where to go, Café Alfresco on Main Street. Don’t forget to let us know which dish is your favorite, too.
